In association with #nosocialhate and incorporating the OZICAR Formula Festival, the OZICAR Race Of Champions and the OZICAR Grand Prix.
OZICAR is pleased to announce the first annual OZICAR Festival Of Speed, three fun events held over five days where regular drivers can rub shoulders with the pro's and be in the running to win a real race car experience of a lifetime all while championing a worth while cause to bring together the sim racing community through #nosocialhate
"This type of event is something I have been working on for a longtime and I originally got the idea from the UK Formula Ford Festival which I followed back in the day when the likes of Ambrose, Ingall and Webber raced there." Said OZICAR's Ira Fehlberg
"I think an event that goes over a few days is more engaging and when I approached the #nosocialhate campaign I was surprised to get a message back from Chaz actually, it is his baby and so my hope is that the sim community gets behind Chaz's campaign, which starts with a like and follow if you haven't already and then coming and racing this event and having some fun."
Speaking of fun OZICAR are giving away two real open wheel experience's in a proper Formula Ford around Sydney Motor Sport Park, no rev limiters, no driving instructor by your side, in an open cockpit car tuned to just over 115bhp, that weighs just 410kg and does 0-100kph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 230kph! This prize will be drawn live on SimSpeed TV from any driver who makes both the Formula Vee and Formula 4 final and does not incur any post race penalty's in the final.
After the Formula Festival Saturday night will see the Race Of Champions final which with some of Australia and the world's best drivers already confirmed the racing is set to be top shelf.
"I also had plans to run a Race Of Champions type event and so I wanted to keep it in the spirit of the real ROC which started out in Rally cars on short loop circuits and while the Rally Cross tracks on iRacing are fun, they are pretty tight where as Crandon is wide open, big jumps, long straights followed by hairpins it's easy to pass and follow and the VW Beetle Lite will keep it evenly matched, it's lots of fun to drive I know that!" Said Ira.
The Festival will conclude on Sunday with the 2022 OZICAR Grand Prix which will be the only F1 race OZICAR runs this year as confirmed by Ira who said, "I would love to have run a whole season of F1's but I just don't think I could get the numbers yet and so OZICAR will run just one full length, live broadcast, Grand Prix event each year, with Trophies for the top three from Prestige Trophy."
During the festival a Nations Cup points tally will be held where drivers can nominate a country for their points to count and it should be an interesting trans tasmin battle between the Aussie and the Kiwi's as well as the internationals.
Entry for all festival events is free or, "pay what you think it's worth, see ozicar.net for more details or the entry form links below.
